Surfcath™
Surfactant administration catheter for the treatment of premature or full-term high-risk neonates or with respiratory distress syndrome caused by pulmonary surfactant deficiency (hyaline membrane disease - HMD).
Surfcath™ is a PEBA catheter of 20 cm long, with an outer diameter of 6Fr and a centimeter marking to guide insertion.
The distal tip of the device is a blunt black tip of 2 cm, bent at 30 degrees. It consists of a flexible part of 15 mm, and an extra-flexible part of 5 mm.
The proximal tip of the Surfcath™ features a Luer-Lock connector.
The tube is curvable and allows the user to manually give the Surfcath™ the desired shape, according to its needs.
